When a commando team of U.S. Navy SEALs breached a fortified compound in Pakistan and dispatched Osama bin Laden, the world’s attention focused on America’s special forces. Yet it is the nature of their work that the names of these heroes may never be known.
With TIME Special Ops, Jim Frederick, executive editor of TIME, shines a spotlight on the world of military special operations, tracing their history, training, and missions, from the OSS in World War II to the Green Berets in the Vietnam War to the Navy SEALs in Pakistan.
Featuring an introduction by former Senator Bob Kerrey, who won the Congressional Medal of Honor as a Navy SEAL, here is an unprecedented look at the hidden world of the planet’s most skillful soldiers.

Special Ops is a great overview of all special operations units in the various services. Now that SOCOM commands these units it has proved that working together during specialized missions/warfare was really required.
I encourage readers to purchase this publication and gather further knowledge on elite U.S. units.
