As we come to rely increasingly on technology in almost every aspect of our everyday lives, there is a large and ever-growing interest in how we would survive without the conveniences of the modern age. In The Survival Handbook: Essential Skills for Outdoor Adventure, Colin Towell shows you not only how to adapt in such circumstances, but also how to thrive in the wilderness environment. The Survival Handbook is packed with specially commissioned, crystal-clear, step-by-step illustrations for every survival technique, from making shelters and catching and cooking wild food to navigating by the stars. And it includes exciting harrowing stories of real-life survival: what happened, who survived and—most importantly—how they did it.

I'm not an experienced survivalist, but the ease of reading was much better than I expected. Assuming all of the information is correct, it's a great educational tool. It covers all of the details I wanted to know about and gives tips that are extremely helpful for the things I didn't think of. All around a great place to start, or possibly, to continue learning about survival.
