From thrill rides, compliments of his superstar detective Alex Cross, to emotional heartbreakers à la Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas, to high-flying adventures via teenager Maximum Ride, it’s clear James Patterson is, indeed, “the man who can’t miss” (TIME). With The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, though, get ready to be swept into a fantastic realm, where enemies abound…and nothing is at it seems.
The greatest superpower of all isn’t to be part spider, part man, or to cast awe-inspiring magic spells; the greatest power is the power to create. Daniel has that power.
Daniel's secret abilities—like being able to manipulate objects and animals with his mind or to recreate himself in any shape of his choosing—have helped him survive against unknown enemies. But as a protector of the earth, an Alien Hunter, he has a mission beyond what anyone could imagine.
From the day that his parents were brutally murdered, Daniel has used his unique gifts to hunt down their assassin. Finally, with the help of The List bequeathed to him with his parents’ dying breath, he has located the despised killer.
Now, on his own, he vows to take on his father’s important mission and to have vengeance in the process.

This was not what I expected especially after reading all the other James Paterson books. This was a really out there. I finished it, but won't read the 2nd one.

This book was very different for James Patterson, I have read all of his books. At first I wasn't sure, but I read this book in two quick settings. I enjoyed it and cannot wait for his next book on this series. If you can open your mind to anything, you will enjoy this book to the fullest, If you cannot open your mind you will not like it.

Don't bother buying this book. It is wacko. I wish someone would of wrote this review before I wasted my money. This book is so far out it, I couldn't force myself through 10 pages and certainly did not want to waste the time I would of spent reading the entire book.

Daniel X is 15 years old, has super powers, and is an alien. He hunts bad aliens on planet Earth. So can I recommend it? If I were 10 to 15 years old myself, this would have been a good book, and so I can recommend it for teen readers who are afraid of "thick" books. For myself, I think I will pass any future Daniel X adventures. For adults, it was too easy of a read, no real plot, too light.

I love James Patterson's books and his style but this book was truly a disappointment. His Alex Cross character is most definitely one of the best characters of all time. Also, I really grew to love Maximum Ride and read all four books. The character, Daniel X, was not developed enough in this book and I really didn't get into the character like I have his other books. Usually I can't put his books down but this one, I had a hard time reading.
