Brotherhood of Warriors

Only 18 when he left behind a privileged life in Beverly Hills to join Israel's most elite security cadre, Aaron Cohen became part of a top-secret, highly controversial unit that disguises Americans as Arabs and dispatches them to Palestine to abduct terrorist leaders. Brotherhood of Warriors chronicles Cohen’s literally death-defying journey, as he learns Hebrew and Arabic; becomes an expert in urban counterterror warfare; and participates in over 200 missions, including taking down one of the financiers behind the brutal Dizengoff massacre.

A propulsive, gripping read, Cohen’s story is a rare, fly-on-the-wall view into the shadowy world of “black ops” that redefines invincible strength, true danger—and inviolable security.

A very quick read and was enjoyable. Dragged a little at the end but all in all a decent read. Gives the reader insight into some of what goes on with the IDF and SF.

Fighting terrorism, internationally
June 10, 2008

This book was a quick and exciting read. Follow the wild child who gets tamed by military school. Then follow his conversion to IDF elite. Without getting into specific techniques, this is the bulk of the book. The training of the special unit Aaron Cohen joins, not even that many operations to speak of. Brutality, sleep deprivation, and intense physical training. Typical post SF combat pattern happens(without telling you what it is , I have seen this in several other publications) then a bunch of horn-tooting about being the best at what he does in the end. I enjoyed this book even though the ending dragged a bit. You get a sense of what being a citizen in Israel is like, being under the constant threat of terrorist attack. Understand the mindset and ideology of how they fight terrorism. Reader can make comparisons to the American hows and whys.
