Maximum Ride: The Final Warning

Maximum Ride #4: The Final Warning, the breathtaking fourth chapter in a series that has garnered critical acclaim, is one reason TIME magazine says James Patterson is “the man who can't miss.” Whether you're 10 or 110, you'll soar right along with Max as the stalwart, winged young heroine tries to save herself, her flock and the world, too!

Just because a cruel, Biotech experiment went out of control and gave Maximum Ride and her five-member team the stunning ability to fly doesn't mean they're not otherwise normal kids. 15-year-old Max's growing “feelings” for Fang are ever foremost on her mind, even as she and her high-flying companions—Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge and Angel—are dispatched to Antarctica where a group of environmental scientists needs their assistance in the increasingly alarming battle against global warming. Despite the frigid temperatures, Max warms to the excitement and adventure of the task before them. She's also acutely aware that the vastness of the frozen wasteland surrounding them makes it a perfect hideout from nefarious government forces looking to control her continually growing powers. Then again, maybe it doesn't….

Very good...but slightly disappointing

I very much enjoyed the series as a whole, but was disappointed at how short this book was. It felt like he rushed through the story. I still recomend the book but wish Patterson would have put more effort into it.

I am 31 and LOVE this series. I've loved reading about the winged kids since When the Wind Blows! I can't wait to get this book!

What does age have to do with it.??
March 13, 2008

You're 36 - I'm 68 and I too love this series as does my 49 year old daughter - 27 year old granddaughter and 15 year old great grand daughter....I know this is supposed to be the last of the series - but I hope Mr. Patterson will reconsider and continue with it for several more volumes.
