No Easy Day

For the first time, read a first-person account of the Bin Laden raid, told by a Navy SEAL who witnessed the terrorist mastermind's final moments. No Easy Day puts the reader alongside the handpicked 24-man team as they train for and plan the biggest mission of their lives, then delivers a blow-by-blow narrative of the assault, beginning with the helicopter crash that could have ended the author’s life, straight through to the radio call confirming Bin Laden’s death.

From the streets of Iraq to the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips in the Indian Ocean, and from the mountaintops of Afghanistan to the third floor of Osama Bin Laden’s compound, Mark Owen of the U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group—commonly known as SEAL Team Six—has been a part of some of the most memorable special operations in history, as well as countless missions that never made headlines.

With boots-on-the-ground detail, Owen describes several of these previously unreported missions, depicting the life and work of a SEAL and the evolution of the team after the events of September 11, 2001. In telling their true stories, Owen leaves readers with a deep understanding of the warriors who keep America safe.

Easy Day, Easy Read.
February 20, 2013

I found this book to be informative, without going into alot of details, a bit humorous, from the standpoint of a military mind, and interesting enough to easily hold the reader's interest. The story line is good and you feel you get to know some of the men the author served with and the job they did and the training they endured and mastered. I found the book to be an enjoyable read.

I grew up in a military town and have a daughter that was career military. This book is a great book into the military, especially the special forces. Well written. May God bless our military and our nation!

Honerable
November 30, 2012

This review is in response to "No Honor" who gave the book a 1 star. After reading his review, it's CLEAR he didn't read the book. I suspect he formed his opinion after reading what the mainstream (Obama) media had to say about it. This book DOES NOT in ANY WAY jeopardize ANY active military personnel. However, if you have your antennas up, you will catch clues how Obama is a horrible Commander in Chief, and an example of why the death rate in Afghanistan skyrocketed after Obama became president, and why morale in the military has slumped and suicides have risen. We're in a sad state of affairs. May God bless the United States, in spite of the damage Obama is causing. :-(

Story of Navy Seal Life
November 07, 2012

As a Navy wife of 20 years service, I found that the book evoked a lot of memories. However, the Seals have a much tougher life with deployments than any other sailors and their family life suffers much more. This was not a book of secrets being told but a book about men who give much to protect this country. WELL DONE.
