In June 2005 the U.S. launched Operation Redwing. The mission, undertaken by four Navy SEALs, was to capture or kill an al Qaeda leader holed up with the Taliban on the Pakistan-Afghan border. But things went very wrong and in just twenty-four hours, only one SEAL, Leading Petty Officer Marcus Luttrell, was still alive. Badly injured by a rocket grenade, Luttrell spent four days fighting off the six assassins sent to finish the job before crawling seven miles to safety.
A stunning and unforgettable portrait of four brave warriors, three who made the ultimate sacrifice and one who now wishes above all to honor their service and heroism, this national bestseller is one of the most extraordinary military memoirs you will ever read.

One of the best books I have read in a long time. Couldn't put it down once I started. Well worth the read. Gives a true understanding what our brave men and women in the armed forces go through to protect us on a daily basis. Tells a story that needs to be told.
