American Sniper

From 1999 to 2009, the late Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history (the Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyle’s kills). Nicknamed “The Legend” by his fellow Navy SEALs, he served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and earned seven medals for bravery, including two Silver Stars. In American Sniper, Kyle tells his astonishing story—a gripping and moving tale of war and patriotism, sacrifice and honor, family and brotherhood.

Kyle vividly recounts key battles, including the Race to Baghdad and the bloody fights at Fallujah, Ramadi and Sadr City. He talks openly of the blood and pain of war—about being shot in both the helmet and back, and of witnessing the deaths of two close friends. He also provides a rare, firsthand glimpse at the elite world of the SEALs and combat snipers. But American Sniper isn’t just Kyle’s story, and he pays tribute not only to his brothers in SEAL Team 3, but also to his family and the sacrifices they endured through his four deployments.

American Sniper offers an adrenaline-charged view of modern-day warfare, and one of the most in-depth and illuminating looks into the secret world of Special Ops ever written.

Chris Kyle was unique in the annals of American Military History. To realize that he was killed while trying to help another veteran only makes his story that much more significant.

Murderer

Only in this hypocrisy of a nation can a cold blooded murderer be not only lauded as a hero but can profit handsomely off the misery of others. C'est la vie. The old axiom of you shall reap what you sow will inevitably ring true here as well.

I got about half way through the book when I found out he was killed. This is with out a doubt the best book I've read on the War In Iraq. I will be passing it on to other Vets that I know.

I read Chris Kyle's book "The American Sniper" and it was great! I read it while my grandson was in Afghanistan and it was really hard for me to read but I couldn't put it down. Chris is one of our American Heros and will be remember for his role in remembering our Military men and women and for letting us have a small glimpse into their lives while they are a way fighting so that we will have a safe place to live. Thanks again to Chris and the many men and women who serve this great country . God Bless the USA!
